My husband and I both grew up in dog loving families with two or more dogs at all times. Golden Retrievers and mutts were the name of the game. When we moved in together, we decided to get a Newfoundland. From that moment on, we knew in our hearts that once you go Newfie, you never go back. Newfies are such a unique and special breed, it is difficult to try and explain the passion they evoke within you unless you find another Newfie lover. Such amazing Newfie lovers, can be found in Sarah and Chase Moore of Moore Newfies.
Traditionally, my husband and I have rescued our Newfies; however, once we lost our two boys and began the quest for a new fur baby, knowing we were intending to train him to be a school therapy dog, we knew we needed to find a breeder. Honestly, I was very nervous about going to a breeder. Most breeders I researched all said they were “reputable” and such; however, only one stood out to me as not only reputable, but truly loving of the Newfie breed and each and every Newfie they own. That breeder again was Sarah and Chase Moore.
Over the course of working with Moore Newfies, Sarah has earned my utmost respect and admiration. Sarah is a woman who truly loves and cherishes Newfoundlands. Sarah is completely transparent, honest and sincere with her intentions and communication as a breeder. What she does, she does out of love and respect, for an amazing breed that is the ultimate human companion. She and her family share their love, time and lives with all of their Newfies, as their dogs are truly part of their family. The love and devotion given to their dogs, radiates within the puppies she breeds.
I have never experienced a puppy more sociable, loving, willing and instantly bonded than Graeden, our Newfoundland from Moore Newfies. The endless hours of puppy play time with Sarah, Chase and their children created an unbelievably loving puppy. We love big dogs; they are “extra” special. We now have our first Newfie, Mindy! Min has been with us for almost a month now. We adopted her, age 4 years, 8months, from Sarah Gray of Moore Newfies in Collbran, Colorado.

We were searching for a Newfoundland puppy at the end of 2015. We searched numerous states, willing to travel a great distance to secure this new family member. Searching over 30 breeders in the USA, we settled on Moore Newfies. This would not be our first Giant Breed; we have a female Newfie and had just lost a wonderful friend, great companion, and greatly loved family member, a Great Pyrenees / Newfoundland mix, Koda. We did our homework to say the very least.
Everything Moore Newfie’s website and Sarah Moore presented, represented, and said, came true, with no unexpected turns. The web site spelled everything out clearly and any questions we had Sarah quickly answered. After McClintock was born, we were kept updated with photos and events that he was starting his new life with. He was everything we expected and more. Mack is very loving, playful, independent, and has a delightful happy demeanor.
As required, and we desired, we took McClintock to our Vet, a very well-known and respected Denver Pet Hospital. He was such a hit with all the staff and the Vets on duty. His examination was excellent; he received a clean bill of health and even a compliment of being a wonderful specimen of the breed. Our vet also has a special fondness for the giants. He got to meet all the staff on his first tour of the facility. His future medical shots and visits were set up to get him a good start to his new life in our family.
If you are considering a giant breed, and a Newfoundland is in your future, stop you’re searching, you have found the best. If you think this is just a puffed up write up, we are in the process of securing our next family member here with Moore Newfies. We are anxiously awaiting a female to be a special companion for McClintock. ​I cannot recommend Moore Newfies highly enough! Sarah was incredible to work with, and my entire experience – from starting to think seriously about getting a Newfy pup, to picking up Mr. Bennet – has been amazing. I really wanted to do my research on breeders, since these dogs are so special, and thus also more exposed to exploitative breeding practices that can lead to all kinds of problems down the line. What impressed me the most about Sarah was how many questions she asked me – she cares immensely about where her dogs find forever homes, which is a testament to the care she takes in breeding her puppies. I highly doubt any other Newfoundland breeder will offer a 3-year health guarantee in a written legal contract, and though my puppy is still just 9 weeks, my vet in Boulder could not be more pleased with his health already! Sarah exemplifies the kind of quality breeder from which you should get these amazing dogs; she has a wealth of knowledge about the breed, and is an attentive resource for all of your questions before and after you bring home your fluff baby. I also was able to visit Sarah before bringing Mr. Bennet home to meet his parents (Poseidon and Harley), and meet Sarah in person, which only reassured me that she is truly the best there is when it comes to Newfy care.

I never had a Newfoundland before and now I know I will never have any other breed of dog. I got Duke December 4, 2015 and it changed my life forever. He was the biggest, most beautiful puppy I have ever had. I could tell there was something special about this dog. Everywhere we go – people stop me to ask me about him. I have even had people pull over on the side of the road! Everyone in the neighborhood loves him. All the kids – can’t wait to see him. He is so gentle with them and just sits there while they pet him. You can tell he soaks it up. He is kind, loving, and goofy. When he wants attention, he will stand on your foot and lean into you so you can’t go anywhere. He just wraps his head around you and it is like being hugged by a giant bear. He is the most amazing dog I have ever had and I can’t thank Moore Newfies enough for giving me such an amazing boy!

We are so incredibly grateful for finding Moore Newfies! Our puppy, Aspen, has been such a fun and loving addition to our household (me, my husband, and our cat, Clyde). From day one she was super affectionate, intelligent, and easygoing. She’s the calmest puppy I’ve ever been around, and everyone comments on that. Our veterinarian office is obsessed with her too!
Aspen was clearly loved and taken great care of before we got her, and we thank Sarah and Chase and their family for that. Their kids nicknamed her Fudge, and that nickname has stuck too! We also got to meet Aspen’s parents, Poseidon and Harley, and they are so beautiful. All of their dogs are such good looking and well tempered animals. My husband and I are so very pleased with Moore Newfies! We searched for quite a while for a reputable breeder and were excited to find one in our own backyard. When we decided on Moore Newfies Sarah was quick to respond to our Texts and emails, answer all of our questions and was an absolute joy to work with. After our Maisy was born, we were able to watch her grow through pictures sent regularly and text updates. The big day came and we headed out to pick her up. We were so impressed with the site. The enclosures were very clean and the dogs were in excellent shape. We were excited to greet the Moore family and finally meet Maisy in person. She was so beautiful! She was obviously very well taken care of and loved. She came home with everything we could possibly need, including her AKC paperwork and registration for her microchip. Everything was done very professionally. Maisy is intelligent, confident and curious and we are so proud of her. We would definitely recommend Moore Newfies to anyone interested in the breed. My Husband and I will FOREVER be grateful for our Beautiful Rosie,..a Newfoundland pup we acquired from Sarah Moore.. She is as kind as she is professional! She allowed me to visit our pup every week until we brought her home. You can’t find people like that just anywhere. We have had Newfoundland dogs for almost 12 years. We chose this breed because of their sweet nature, gentleness, and extreme love of children! We chose Moore Newfies because we loved that the puppies were handled from day 1 with children. Sarah also was extremely knowledgeable about the breed. Sarah sent me pictures of our puppy throughout the process, and it made us feel like we already knew him when it was time for pickup. Ogie has been an absolute love to everyone he meets. He has the most goofy personality, which shows whenever he is around kids! He was easy to train, even with his sometimes stubborn disposition! He is also an amazing swimmer. We recently purchased 2 newfoundlands from Moore Newfies and had such a wonderful experience! I was very impressed with Sarah (and her girls) with all the love they showed to the puppies and their older dogs, which we were very happy to be able to meet the mother of our puppies as well. Sarah had plenty of room for them and they were all in clean and well maintained pens. She was very patient as we handled each puppy and played while she waited for us to decide the right one for our family. She is very knowledgeable of their care and answered all of our questions. Reuben came to us on December 12, 2015, and we could not be happier. We started our search for a Newfy over 6 and a half years ago after losing one of our beloved Golden Retrievers on her 14th birthday. We have always been a 2 dog family even prior to having kids ( 8 & 4).
A little background on me…My grandmother raised and showed German Shepards, Standard Schnauzers, & Short Hair Pointers since my father was a child. I grew up with Champion and Non Champion dogs that my Grandmother would gift to us. I grew up training dogs, with my Dads help, on the reward system rather than negative or harsh training. Our dogs were always considered a family member. Not just a pet that we fed twice a day.
As we looked for our second dog, my wife and I decided on Newfys. At the urge of our friends of my grandmother we began contacting breeders. After extensive research we found a breeder in Idaho that we felt very comfortable with. Unfortunately, the breeding never took for her Dame’s second litter. We hung in there for the next couple years but eventually the Dame was retired and we had our second child on the way. A new baby took over and we were now a one dog family.
Fast forward to this past August/September and we decided it was time to find our Newf. I started looking around Colorado as well as many other areas. I looked all over the country for a pup. When it came time to decide, hands down, Moore Newfies was THE CHOICE.
The integrity, communication and personality of Sarah Moore is what sold us. Her Newfies are beautiful and obviously well loved. The care taken of these pups is impeccable and therefore getting Reuben, our pup, was a very easy decision. Sarah answered all of my “stupid” questions with haste and a smile, and continues to do so. I was also greeted by their dogs which seemed happy and were not only beautiful, but very LARGE! This is what we wanted.
We give Moore Newfies the highest of recommendations. We are so happy and lucky to have found the Moores and their Newfs, hopefully you will be too.

My husband and I started looking for a Newfoundland breeder last fall. We were lucky enough to find Moore newfies and have never regretted it!! Not only do we have our sweet Quincy but we have a new friend. Sarah is very accommodating. We visited Quincy several times and she was so nice to us. I would recommend Moore Newfies to anyone!!

Our experience with Moore Newfies was excellent. Sarah Moore kept us posted on the status of the upcoming litter once we were on her waiting list. And answered all our questions before our puppy was identified with patience, she’s an superior breeder, knowledgeable & very thorough. Her family of younger children played with Zelda so she was fully socialized by the time we picked her up at 12 weeks. She is a confident, loving puppy, ready to play & loves to stick right by her people. We have raised 4 Newfie puppies in the past 20 years & each had that unbelievably sweet Newfie disposition but both our females we got at 12 weeks rather than 8 and it made a world of difference in how easy they were once they got home. Our black female, Zelda (DOB 7/17/16) is absolutely beautiful & joined a family of Newfies, Lucie, age 10 and Otto, age 2. She jumped right in & bonded with our motherly 10 year old immediately, follows her everywhere & snuggles up to her or us, whoever is handy as soon as we are stationary. Sarah made a special effort to use the name we’d chosen before she came to us & consequently Zelda comes running already when you call her already. Her examinations, testing & health records were complete & reassuring. Pups from Moore Newfies are especially well socialized & gorgeous dogs. Her mother & sister from an earlier litter were both at the farmhouse so we were able to get a very good idea of how Zelda will look as she matures, that was important to us. We recommend Sarah & Moore Newfoundlands highly to anyone looking for a very well socialized, beautiful & confident Newfie. So glad Sarah was recommend to us by a very trusted source in the “Colorado Newfie Family”.

We just recently picked up our puppy from Moore Newfies and are extremely pleased. The puppy is great, socialized, and in excellent health, with all shots kept current. Sarah was great to work with. She kept us informed from the day our Newfie was born until we picked her up. Sarah continually sent pictures as the puppy developed and was accommodating throughout with great information on raising a Newfie. We could not be more pleased.

We made the pilgrimage from Oregon to pick-up Cruise and it was one of the best trips of our lives as we came home with the most wonderful dog. This is Sampson, our now 2 year old newfie that has absolutely stolen all of our hearts and that of anyone who knows “Sammy”. Sammy loves everyone he meets and if he’s not laying his head in our laps, he’s leaning in for a hug or a tummy rub!

Margo, our sweet Newfoundland from Moore Newfies, has been the best addition to our family. She has a big personality and loves to be by our side. We purchased two puppies from Sarah and she was very helpful. Between the multiple trips to her and the countless hours playing with all the puppies, we never felt pressured at any time. In January 2104 we lost our 14 year old son. We decided to get a puppy to help fill a bit of the void he left for us and our daughter. We researched many breeders and ultimately chose Moore Newfies. Our Newfie, Bentley, has exceeded our expectations as a “comfort” dog and has become a vital part of our family. He is loving, goofy and personable. Thank you for breeding what I think is the most perfect creature on earth. Complete sunshine. Everyday she goes out of her way to put a smile on people’s faces. She absolutely loves water, will swim in circles because there’s only a couple areas that are deep enough for actually swim right now, but she is a total tugboat. I ordered some small little flippers for myself, we are about to do some swimming this summer in the lakes and rivers around Crested Butte… Thanks again, she is soo soooo loved and perfect… fits in perfectly to our family.

We have two newfies from Moore Newfies, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about our sweet pups and the entire experience of working with Sarah Moore. Moore Newfies is an extremely professional breeder but also brings in a very warm touch with how they work with their puppies and adoptive families. Each puppy is raised by Sarah and her 6 beautiful girls. They are very well-loved when they go home to their new families. We are a ‘human’ family of 6, with children ranging from 18 down to 14 months old. So, finding the perfect breed and family friendly dog was of the utmost importance. After we got our first newfie from Sarah, a handsome grey boy named Gogi, we knew that this was the right breed and breeder for us. Gogi is now 2 years old and is very well-behaved, kind and a tremendous big brother to our newest newfie addition, a super-cute and sweet brown/white boy named Murphy (a.k.a Murph Man). Even at 10 weeks old, Murphy is very laid back and has great manners with our baby girl. It is very special to us that all of our children get to grow up with these gentle giants!
Owning a giant breed is very different from any other size of dog and we have always really appreciated the tremendous amount of support and advice that we have received from Sarah. She has always been extremely responsive to any questions we have had. We have never felt alone in the journey of raising our newfies! Needless to say, we are smitten… Newfies for life!

I’ve always wanted a Newfie. Don’t know why, just always did. Once I had settled into a property with enough land, I figured it was time to make my Newfie dream come true. I searched all over the US and Canada for the perfect breeder. A few things set Sarah apart from everyone else. First, Sarah was always quick to respond to my multiple questions and send me all the pictures and videos I asked for, even though I’m sure I drove her nuts, she had endless patience for me. Second, her health guarantee is better than every other breeder I considered, in some cases, 3 times longer than others. Third is the fact that her puppies are raised around her kids, so her puppies are socialized and gentle. When Sarah showed me the picture of my boy, it was a done deal, that was MY Newfie. This my beautiful boy Zulu.
He is amazing and everything I hoped a Newfie would be. He is sweet and funny and affectionate and playful. One word of caution…don’t get a Moore Newfie if you want to go places with your Newfie quickly. Everywhere we go, Zulu gets so much attention that everyone needs to stop and say hi. People have pulled their cars over to come over to pet him and ask for puppy kisses. He is a show stopper for sure! I can’t wait to get a second Newfie from Sarah.

​We are the luckiest parents of Ullr, a beautiful 6 month old black with a single white spot on his chest Newfoundland. He is smart, sweet, handsome, and oh so stubborn- but we wouldn’t trade him for the world. We had the pleasure of working with and ultimately purchasing him from Moore Newfies in Collbran, Colorado. We could not have asked for a more pleasurable and easy process in adopting him.
First, Sarah was extremely helpful and very responsive to all inquires and questions we had about her litters and the parents.

My husband and I had been looking for a Newfoundland puppy for nearly a year. We searched through dozens of breeders websites for months, but when we contacted Sarah and her family we knew it was the perfect fit. Benson is from Tiny & Lacy and an absolute joy! He has responded so well to training and is shaping into such a wonderful dog. My fiancée and I could not be happier with our baby newfie girl, Kira. We got Kira through Moore Newfies and I write this as a very positive testimonial of our experience with Sarah. Although it was a grueling 8 weeks of waiting to pick up our fur baby, Sarah kept us apprised with pictures and stories which was tremendously helpful . We have been to the vet several times since we got Kira, for basic check-ups, shots, spaying, etc. and every time they are in awe of how healthy her joints, fur, and overall condition is. The hardest part of having a newfie is that everyone wants to stop and pet her!

I highly recommend Moore Newfies! Sarah was a wonderful resource before I picked up my puppy. After I picked up Anouk, she continues to be a great resource for all my “new dog owner” questions. Anouk is a wonderful, smart puppy, came well socialized, and is doing well with house training. She already sleeps most of the night, only crying when she needs to pee. Kurfy is the second newfoundland that we have gotten from Chase and Sarah. He is adorable, snuggly, and everything we love in a dog. Chase and Sarah and their girls are hands on with the pups and the pups are very social and great with kids. We have 18 grandchildren who love our newfs!! We have never regretted our decision to get a newfoundland and have never regretted getting them from Moore Newfies!!
